Angela McGerr writes beautifully about Archangel Gabriel in The Book of Angels and the Angel Almanac. She speaks of invoking the silver light of Gabriel together with the gold light of Raphael as the first step on the Way of Love and Light. The silver and gold ray balance feminine and masculine energies respectively within and help us find peace. Achieving this peace and balance is a prerequisite for further spiritual growth.
To balance your feminine energy, you can visualise a clockwise spiral of silver light of Gabriel rising from the core of the earth and entering through your feet or your root chakra. The silver light coils around your spine until it mingles with the golden ray of Raphael in your heart.
There are several beautiful well-known prayers to Archangel Gabriel. Here is one invoking his protection for others:
O loving messenger of the Incarnation, descend upon all those for whom I wish peace and happiness. Spread your wings over the cradles of the new-born babes, O thou who didst announce the coming of the Infant Jesus. Give to the young a lily petal from the virginal scepter in your hand. Cause the Ave Maria to re-echo in all hearts that they may find grace and joy through Mary. Finally, recall the sublime words spoken on the day of the Annunciation — “Nothing is impossible with God,” and repeat them in hours of trial — to all I love — that their confidence in Our Lord may be reanimated, when all human help fails. Amen
I especially like the “Nothing is impossible with God” (spoken to Mary when she protested that conception would be impossible without being with a man). This is why Gabriel has become known as the Angel of Hope.
Gabriel can also help us achieve invisibility to those who seek to harm us.
To boost your intuition, simply bathe in the light of the Moon while invoking Gabriel. Visualise a silver beam emanating from Luna, clearing any debris from your third eye and connecting directly to your pineal gland.
I’d like to end with this beautiful prayer to Archangel Gabriel for strength:
I pray to you to assist me as I develop the strength to carry out my life’s mission. Please send your strengthening energy to help me to live life with courage and love for myself and all humanity. With your guidance I will strive to fulfill my purpose and assist others on their journey. This I ask of you through Christ, Amen.

I had personal visits by three, the first just before I found the lump in my breast, came the night before in a light so bright it was dazzling to tell me to check my breast. Another came when I went through treatment and friends were praying for me and wrapped me in the comfort of its wings. The third came many years later when I needed to hear a message he gave me the name of Ariel and his message to me was important.
I don’t talk about these things very often, but I sense you would understand and appreciate their significance. ^_^
