Even before I got to know Archangel Raphael and was able to invoke him by name, I felt an extraordinary sense of protection during my travels. I always used to pray for God to guide me to the right people and I have memories of absolutely fantastic and deeply meaningful meetings because of this.
Funnily enough, I never prayed for God to keep me safe – I kind of took that bit for granted and I probably had Raphael working overtime.
Here is a story of a healing miracle that happened during an Interrail trip I took as a 20 year old girl. My family thought I was crazy to take off on my own and my sister’s last words when seeing me off at the train station were: Don’t come back in a body bag!
It was an unusually hot summer all over Europe that year. I’d been walking around in the heat carrying a heavy back pack and wearing sweaty trainers for a few days when I could no longer ignore the presence of a blister on my left big toe.
On a train between Copenhagen and Hamburg I realised that the blister was getting quite infected, and I remember thinking to myself, “I’m going to have to head back home because of a flippin’ blister!”
Then I remembered that I was supposed to pray in the face of adversity (I was an Evangelical Christian), so I figured I had nothing to lose by trying. I took my trainer off (luckily there weren’t any people sitting nearby or they might have passed out) and cradled my foot on my lap. I said a prayer and lost myself in silence for a few minutes. When I came to there was no sign of the blister. It was gone…
Are you shaking your head in disbelief and/or smiling right about now? I couldn’t believe it either, but it did happen and it wasn’t the only miracle I have experienced but it was my first healing miracle and it happened when I was travelling so I reckon Archangel Raphael had something to do with it.
