“You never know what worse luck your bad luck has saved you from.”
― Cormac McCarthy
For the first post of the year, I wanted to share a picture from my latest deck purchase, the Wheel of The Year Tarot. The 9 of Cups in this deck is why I decided I had to have it. Ladybirds make me happy and are a perfect fit for the ‘wish card’ of the deck because of all the lore surrounding luck and good fortune associated with ladybirds.
Ladybird, ladybird fly away home,
Your house is on fire and your children are gone,
All except one, And her name is Ann,
And she hid under the frying pan.
In my native Sweden, she is known as ‘Maria Nyckelpiga’ (Mary’s key-maid) and in many countries in Europe, the ladybird is associated with the Holy Virgin.
I’ll be doing a ‘deck interview’ with the Wheel of the Year Tarot next week over on http://www.tarotize.com but I wanted to share one more picture today:
The holidays were busy and I had to do my very best juggling à la 2 of Pentacles (the card meaning, not the actual image in this case) to get as much time in with family as possible while keeping up with the demand for readings.
I hope your year is getting off to a great start and that you are staying busy (but not too busy!) doing the things you love.
Until next time…
