A Lenormand Chat with the Dead

I spoke with a friend on the phone last night and he confessed to me that whenever he faces a major decision, he asks his deceased grandfather to guide him. I thought that was really sweet and it’s the first time I’ve heard a man say this – I have a few female friends who do it.

This made me wonder if I could use the cards to communicate with the dead. The Lenormand messages are usually pretty straight-forward and ideal for specific advice, so I put them to the test and asked grandma:

Is it wise for me deepen the connection with a certain someone?

The cards pulled were Tree+Paths+Flowers = A life-changing decision which changes my life for the better… A clear and unequivocal ‘yes!’ in other words.

That the ‘yes’ should arrive via these three green woman cards make it quite easy to trust that the advice is from my grandmother and that I can indeed use the cards this way.

My grandmother was an avid gardener and the one time she appeared to me in a dream vision after she crossed over, it was to show me her celestial garden. I woke up completely blissed out!

Do you use the cards to communicate with dead people or spirit guides? I would love to hear from you!

Blessings,

  1. Hi Lisa, I find my readings are the most effective when I channel the energy of my mother. When I can feel her energy and feel I am her, I can access such beautiful wisdom with the cards. My father has also passed (as I mentioned to you previously) and I find I use his spiritual presence when I need a more rational or grounded perspective. So yes, I think it’s a very helpful tool tap into, just as we know that particular spirit guides are useful to tap into certain knowledge eg. I have one who helps me write and one who helps me to become strong in my divine feminine presence. Love to you, thanks for the post :)

    • Thanks for sharing, Ruthy. It felt right to ask my grandma about this very practical topic which I know she would have cared about on this side too :) Glad to hear you can feel your mother and that she helps you in such a beautiful way. <3

      • Yes it is so wonderful :) I also start to feel now with tarot that I can bring in particular guides but I’m still learning to trust who to orchestrate and when. It’s all very new to me but your ‘love dove’ blog has been incredibly helpful in helping me to learn to trust my own interpretation of the cards as much as to get a general feel of the vibrations of the cards (even through a romantic interpretation I’ve found this avenue very helpful). You are the first person from who I have learned that it’s about trusting your intuitive resonance with the card and telling your own story and that has helped me so much. Thank you :)

  2. I have been asked about deceased persons: how are they doing on the other side? and will we see each other again. But I personally have never done it for myself.

  3. No I have not yet done so, but it is true that it is a bit ‘I seek contact with my ancestors and my dead out of the dream world (which is quite vivacious: D).
I think I will try, I do not know why I did not think this o_O

    • Let me know how it goes if you do try it, Colubrina! If you have very vivid dreams, it is likely that the ancestors who keep appearing are shamanic dreamweavers – it’s a special gift that some of those on the other side know how to use! :)

  4. I haven’t done that yet but you’ve inspired me too! Need to finish a 3×3 reading first.

  5. I actually tried this last week, after the G+ discussion with Roskis. And I also asked advice from my grandma :) It wasn’t as clear for me, but I think I will try again, perhaps when I’m in a calmer place myself… :)

Hi Lisa, I thought this was a really interesting way to use the Lenormand and increase their potential. I tried this and it is a little confusing because my Tarot say one thing and if I am reading the Lenormand right they say something different on the same subject!!!! Any advice??? Maybe it was the way I phrased my question……

    • Did you write the question down so that you can scrutinise any differences in how you phrased it? A different phrasing could certainly affect the answer you get. Another possibility is that the cards wish to highlight different aspects and come at the answer from different angles. Can’t say any more than that without knowing more about your readings. Unless the cards contradict each other, I don’t see a problem with them not saying exactly the same thing. I wouldn’t expect to get the same answer from two different types of decks.

Hi Lisa,I looked back and my tarot question was really open ended and gave lots of information. The memoranda question then was very specific and closed and dare I say it, a bit negative. The cards that answered were reflecting this (the scythe and mountain). Am going to try again reframing the question. Like this way for trusting your answer though.
